Leaving the Snake Year Behind — and Opening to the Fire Horse
Hi everyone,
Today feels like a beautiful moment to pause and reflect.
We are reaching the end of the Snake year — and while the regular calendar already welcomed a new year, on February 17th a new energetic cycle begins: the year of the Fire Horse.
For many people, this past year has not been easy.
The energy of the Snake is often about shedding — shedding old skin, old patterns, old identities. Walking away from places, situations and sometimes even people that we have simply outgrown.
Not because they were wrong.
But because they no longer matched who we are becoming.
And although transformation rarely feels comfortable, it always creates space.
My personal Snake year
For me, this year was deeply transformative.
I spent the past year in Spain, moving from place to place. It didn’t always go smoothly 😉
But looking back, I understand it now — it wasn’t just relocation, it was release.
I was leaving behind parts of my past that had been painful.
Parts where trust became fragile.
And life gently — and sometimes not so gently — invited me to learn again.
To trust again.
To trust love again.
What surprised me most was where that love appeared.
It didn’t come from the places I expected.
But along the journey, people crossed my path who showed me it was safe to be myself — without judgment, without conditions. People who made me smile, who stood beside me, and who reminded me that kindness still exists in its purest form.
That became my greatest lesson of the Snake year.
Life becomes lighter when you allow yourself to feel loved as you are.
Even when that love comes from different directions than before.
Because love is always around us — but we can only see it once the heart feels safe enough to open again.
From transformation to gratitude
Today I’m writing this from the Netherlands, and if there is one thing I truly want you to know, it is this:
You are never alone.
Even in the years that feel uncertain, isolating, or heavy — something inside you is quietly reshaping your life toward alignment.
For me, my two biggest lessons were:
- Let go of trying to prove your worth to people who cannot meet your energy
- And learn to trust the love of the people who already do
A question for you
The Snake year is almost complete.
So I invite you to gently ask yourself:
What did this year teach me?
Which old layer did I leave behind?
And what space did that create within me?
Because in just a few days, the Fire Horse energy begins — an energy of movement, courage and forward momentum.
Things that are created from love will start moving faster.
Opportunities, connections, inspiration… they accelerate.
But it all begins with one thing:
How much love are you allowing yourself to receive?
Maybe this new year is not asking you to push harder —
but to open wider.
